As an artist, I am most definitely amazed and inspired by every form of nature.
I currently live at the edge of farm fields, streams and forests with horses, llamas,
peacocks, goats and many more animals. Within this landscape I work in many
mediums. Throughout my career I have painted landscapes, portraits, still
lifes and animals. My art "put simply", is my effort to share the drama... life
is full of it.

Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, I have had a passion for art and
nature all my life. I believe my artistic interest started the moment I picked up my
first crayon. As I was growing up, had the opportunity to take private art lessons
from several professional local artists. By my teenage years I enjoyed painting
commissioned portraits, sold my art and participated in many local art shows.

It was clear to me early on that my life's work would be creative. I studied at nearby
Kutztown University which had an excellent fine art and art education program.

Even though natural surroundings captured my interest, city life seemed to be in
my blood, so upon graduating from Kutztown, I ventured to New York City where
I worked in advertising design at an established ad agency. My apartment in
Manhattan became filled with a multitude of paints and canvases, along with cats,
dogs, a python, finches, fish, a gecko and a jungle's worth of plants. Much of my
free time was spent creating art with good friends, visiting museums and the
many galleries in NYC.

After 15 years in New York City I moved to Catawissa, rural Central Pennsylvania,
with all my paints, canvases, critters and plants. I now reside on a 50 acre farm
with my art studio on the ground level of the main house. The walls of the house
have become the gallery for my work.

The original house on the property is now the Peaceable Kingdom Bed & Breakfast
where anyone interested in visiting my studio and farm can come and stay.

In the region I have been a member of several fine art organizations and show my
work in local galleries, along with city galleries and special exhibits. I have painted
several very large murals in public places, the largest on the front of the sanctuary
of a country church just down the road. My art takes inspiration from my varied life
experiences. Love of these contrasting settings and their inhabitants is the
foundation of my aesthetic.
